Looking for a new version of your favorite all-American classics? Opening Ceremony and Levi’s have joined forces to create corduroys in spring colors like lavender, curry and teal. Josh Katz, a designer from Levi’s, tells us he began with “a treasured pair of classic Levi’s cords that you can wear in the spring and then cut into shorts for summertime.” From there, the collection grew into a rainbow of corduroy — trucker jackets, classic 505s and shirts. The design team was inspired by Ryan McGinley’s photos of his friends hanging out in upstate New York wearing ’70s-style vintage denim, so it’s only fitting that McGinley should have shot the campaign (above). The Levi’s + Opening Ceremony clothes go on sale tomorrow, but the collaboration will be an ongoing project, evolving as each season progresses.
As superstar English football player, David Beckham, is currently on loan to one of the strongest European leagues, A.C. Milan, it seems nothing but appropriate to launch Beckham’s latest collaborative collection with adidas Originals by Originals (ObyO) line designed by UNDFTD’s James Bond in Milan. The Spring/Summer 2010 collection launch was hosted at Milan’s retail/gallery/cafe creative space, 10 Corso Como. The store front was glowing with the adidas Originals logo on the night of the launch, and both Bond and Beckham made due appearances at the launch. Aside from the official availability of the latest adidas ObyO David Beckham designed by James Bond collection, the night also marked the preview of the Fall/Winter 2010 collection. Check out photos and recap the event and anticipate the next launch. By the looks of it, wherever David Beckham is playing, it seems like that’s where the next collection launch would be.
Earlier today we announced the Wyclef Jean x Timberland Earthkeepers – Yéle Haiti Product Collaboration Line, last night Timberland along with Wyclef Jean were in New York City hosted a launch event with mini concert from Wyclef. As some of you might have read, the collaboration was devised by Timberland and Wyclef Jean for Timberland Earthkeepers and benefits the Yéle Haiti Foundation. Wyclef put on an amazing performance and even attempted to rouse the small crowd into the excitement of a Brooklyn block party. Dropping tomorrow at BAPE Stores in Los Angeles and New York City are two pairs of Store Color BAPESTA. The NY Limited Color Bapesta will be available tomorrow along side other store colors (except for the LA colorway) at BAPE Store New York. The NY Limited Color is a simple white-based sneaker with purple and black accents, and the signature star in a chic silver, matching BAPE logo in silver in the heel panel. The LA Limited Color which will be available at BAPE Store LA tomorrow alongside other store colors (except for the NY Limited Color) is a brighter mix of yellow, purple and blue on white.
