VANS Vault – Spectator LX | Available Now

When CONVERSE’s Japanese subsidiary announced its 1/2 Dress Code Collection, a new interpretation of classic footwear with contemporary sneaker construction, our message board lit up with requests, or more accurately, demands (on the side note, we don’t sell sneakers…ever). People were sorely disappointed when CONVERSE Japan mentioned it made no plans to export the collection outside of Japan. Now, we think we might have the next best thing. In fact, it is the best thing, period. Introducing the new Spectator LX from VANS Vault for Fall/Winter 2010. Similar to the already mentioned Chukka Buckleback LX, the Spectator LX is a lookback at the classic wear from the last century, in this case the brogue details found on wingtip shoes. Fashioned on a mid section overlay either in leather or suede, the Spectator LX carried a sense of sophistication, without the blusters and pain. Available in Black/White or just Black, on sale now at NYC’s DQM.

Nike x Converse x Jordan Hybrid Shoe

Three of the most famous brand in foot wear have teamed up to create a hybrid shoe. Nike, Converse and Jordan Brand have all teamed up with a bunch of talented kids to help create the first 3 brand hybrid shoe. Most of the shoe design came the Nike Air Max Hyperdunk, with some added features from Jordan Brand and Converse. The shoe can be seen in the video link after the jump, so let us know what you guys think about this hybrid and enjoy.

Nike is always looking for new ways to innovate, and what’s the point of having subordinate companies if you can’t draw from their technology and product line? At the recent World Basketball Festival, Nike debuted the first ever collaboration between Nike, Jordan Brand and Converse, an Air Max basketball shoe with some similarities to the Air Hypermax. Check out the video for the whole story.

Here's something a little left field from the one star brand, aka Converse. Slimming down their Chuck Taylor Low silhouette and basting it with buttery leather uppers, the CT Ox Slim is reminiscent of the premium product created for the John Varvatos range. Looking well nice Connie! Thanks to Streething.

The good folk at BOOOOOOOM! and Converse are holding a comp to see who can build the most awesome skateboard from the most random pieces of crud. There’s no limit to the imagination or sheer stoopidness of entries. If it’s humanly impossible to ride then great. If not, no matter... you’re still in the running for some awesome sneaker prizes. Head over to BOOOOOOOM! for full entry details. Comp closes September 10th.
